First Trip: Dale Hollow Dam

The first part of our week-long trip was camping at Dale Hollow Dam with my family. It was a lot of fun. The weather was nice, for the most part. It only rained a little bit. It was cold, but not unbearable. It just meant a lot of time around the fire, which is never a bad thing :). Josie LOVED camping. She loves it more every time we go. She loved riding her “bike,” riding in the wagon, and her FAVORITE thing was the fish hatchery. We went to the hatchery last year, but she was definitely to small to remember. She was so excited to see the fish, she kept making her fishy motion. Her favorite thing was giving them food. She was so excited to get more, that she would forget to watch the fish eat! We went to the hatchery Saturday and Sunday.

Jake had a good fishing and hunting week. He caught 3 large mouths in the river, and then he killed 4 squirrels when they went hunting. He was the official winner of the annual squirrel hunting contest he, my dad, Andy, and whoever else is hunting with them do every year. :) He will get his name on it and everything :). This is actually his third year in a row to win!

Daddy, Mr. Brian Tomblin (Daddy’s friend), and I ran almost every day. I kept thinking we were just running 3 miles (which is what we were supposed to do) but every day they added some without me realizing. The most we ran was 3.5 miles :). I was really excited, because Daddy and I plan to run a 4 miler at Travis Price in November. So that just means I am very close to my goal!

Overall, we had a great trip. We always do, though. That is probably one of my favorite camping trips we go on all year long :).

Tomorrow, I will update about the second part of our trip :).
